Leading the Big Labor charge is the AFL-CIO, which headlines with Republicans Aiming to Take Away Voting Rights in 36 States.

The Big Lie starts with the claim voters won’t be allowed to vote in at least 36 states based on a so-called “myriad of proposals” that would “suppress the votes of traditionally Democratic voters, including minorities, the poor, people who live in rural areas, seniors and students.”

The Wisconsin Senate, you see, passed what the AFL-CIO is calling an “anti-democratic” voter ID requirement.

According to the “non-partisan state Fiscal Bureau,” this would “disenfranchise 20 percent of the state’s voters, especially in rural areas.” Additionally, the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University “estimates that 11 percent of voters nationwide do not have official IDs that would pass muster for these new and proposed state laws.”

The source of the AFL-CIO’s article comes by way of The We Party, which points to drivers’ license status for its premise.

However, if we turn to the unofficial website, DMV.org, we find a state-by-state interactive map for state-issued ID cards for non-drivers, including information for what kind of documentation applicants will need to “apply for an ID card, which forms to fill out, where to apply, how long IDs are valid, and the costs involved to get one.”

In Wisconsin, for example, applicants are required to provide:

. Proof of identity.
. Documentation to prove Wisconsin residency.
. Social Security number.

For whom could this possibly present a stumbling block?

Ah, yes, illegal immigrants who cannot provide proof. That would be the problem.

California’s requirements are even more bothersome. Besides an application, the state requires the submission of a thumbprint.

That’s leaves behind a different kind of documentation — the kind that could finger criminals.

The very thought of missing out on all those voters has Democrats in an absolute tizzy — to the point of telling bald-faced lies. Only those without documentation will not be able to vote — and we honestly don’t know who they are.
