Vote Kids and More Soros Globalist Breadcrumbs

One of the advantages of living in the “first in the nation” election state of New Hampshire is that the political propaganda, losing candidates, and nutcase media show up here early on in the silly season. All sorts of interesting things find their way into my state.

Below we have a barely-disguised Democratic false choices tv ad that began running May 6 and continues through today in both Iowa and New Hampshire “urging the presidential candidates to make the right choices for children instead of damaging cuts.”

The innocent-sounding group pushing this is Vote Kids. Per usual for front groups, the Vote Kids website provides little information other than saying it was founded in 2002. One blog entry reveals the group’s president is Michael Petit.

Checking into Petit we learn he founded the Every Child Matters Education Fund in 2002. He served as commissioner in Maine’s Department of Human Services and as a delegate to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Helsinki, Finland. Petit states he “works closely with leading members of congress and provides consulting services to many state and local public child welfare agencies.”

The ECMEF website is not very informative, either. The organization says it was founded in 2001 as a “501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan organization working to make public investments in children, youth, and families a national political priority.”

If an organization calls itself non-partisan you can be pretty sure it’s not.

But where did I find Petit’s bio? He’s listed as a “Prime Mover Fellow” in “Cultivating Social Capital” at the Hunt Alernatives Fund, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based private foundation established in 1981 by Helen and Swanee Hunt to “provide grants and technical assistance in the field of human service.”

Turning to the bio for Swanee Hunt we discover she was a Clinton administration appointee, serving as Ambassador to Austria 1993-1997.

Hunt — the daughter of Texas oil giant H.L. Hunt — is president of the Hunt Alternatives Fund and chairs the Institute for Inclusive Security. She founded the Women and Public Policy Program, a research center concerned with domestic and foreign policy, at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and teaches Inclusive Security, “exploring why women are systematically excluded from peace processes and the policy steps needed to rectify the problem.” Hunt is the Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy, core faculty at the Center for Public Leadership, and an adviser to “The Initiative to Stop Human Trafficking” at the Carr Center for Human Rights.

Anyone connected with any organization with Eleanor Roosevelt in its name screams he/she is a progressive.

Hunt is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the boards of USA for UNCHR, the UN Refugee Agency, and something called the Crisis Group.

Frequent readers should be familiar with the Crisis Group by now. Here the name is a bit misleading, as the Crisis Group is actually the globalist International Crisis Group about which both Aaron Klein and I have written a number of articles.

Also serving on the ICG board of trustees is George Soros, president of the Open Society Institute.

Hunt writes about Soros in her 2004 book, This was not our war: Bosnian women reclaiming the peace, and Soros remarks on Hunt’s 2006 autobiography, Half-Life of a Zealot: “For a dozen years I’ve watched Swanee Hunt transform her resources into possibilities for others. Her autobiography shows the creative nexus of personal values, political savvy, and global reform that has made hers a life well lived.”

There you have it. The breadcrumbs start with Vote Kids and end up with a globalist at the helm.
