Synchronicity strikes again. This time it is Aaron Klein’s WND article, Keith Ellison’s office hangs up on WND. Congressman’s Islamic pilgrimage paid by group tied to terrorism, that prompted the following article link emailed by RBO friend FreedomFairy.
We start with Creeping Sharia’s June 17 report about a February 2009 meeting held by the American Muslim Taskforce (AMT) on Civil Rights and Elections in Washington, DC.
What is this “task force” you ask? AMT describes itself as an “umbrella” organization represented by
- American Muslim Alliance (AMA); Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR); Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA); Muslim Alliance of North America (MANA); Muslim American Society (MAS); Muslim Student Association National (MSA); Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA); and United Muslims of America (UMA)
Additionally, AMT lists three “observer” organizations: Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC); and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).
Creeping Sharia also identified AMT as closely affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Frank Gaffney Jr. wrote March 26 at Newsmax.com:
- The American Muslim Taskforce would be more accurately described as the Muslim Brotherhood since many of the ten 10 signatories — ranging from the parent organization of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) to the Muslim Students Association to the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) — have been identified in an internal Muslim Brotherhood strategy memo as “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”
Interestingly, Creeping Sharia included Project Islamic Hope in its listing of organizations, which was obviously taken directly from AMT’s website. Project Islamic Hope is no longer listed. However, looking at other AMT organizational listings, including this one posted after the Democratic National Convention held August 2008 in Denver, we find Project Islamic Hope clearly listed.
There may be a good reason why Project Islamic Hope is no longer menitoned. It would embarrass the One.
RBO has written about Project Islamic Hope here, in August 2008, and most recently, here in January 2009. As you can see below, Obama is pictured on the organization’s webpage with Project Islamic Hope’s Director, Najee Ali, who in August 2008 was sentenced to four years in state prison “after pleading no contest to trying to bribe a witness in his daughter’s criminal case.” Unsurprisingly, Project Hope’s webpage sported a link directly connecting readers to Obama’s official website during the presidential campaign.
According to the April 2009 issue of the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, attendees (“luminaries”) at the February gathering included (emphasis added):
- Hodari Abdul-Ali, of the Muslim Alliance in North America … Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, of the Muslim Public Affairs Council … Imam Mehdi Bray of the Muslim American Society … Georgetown University Professor Zahid Bukhari … Dr. Agha Saeed, the founder and chairman of American Muslim Alliance and the AMT … Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN); Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark; former Sen. Mike Gravel (D-AK), the Libertarian candidate for president in 2008; anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan; “Democracy Now” radio host Amy Goodman; Malaak Shabazz, the daughter of El-Hajj Malek ul Shabazz (Malcolm X); Aitzaz Ahsan, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan; and Egyptian human rights activist Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim were just a few of the luminaries who spoke at this very important event. … Prof. Peter Erlinger, of William Mitchell College of Law … Missouri state Rep. Jamilah Nasheed (D), a Muslim legislator … Ako Abdul-Samad (D-IA), another Muslim state legislator [...]
See Creeping Sharia’s article for “listings and descriptions” of some of the February speakers.
While checking out the American Muslim Alliance’s home page RBO discovered it pretty much repeats AMT news and views. Clicking on the links takes you to items posted on AMT’s web site.
One example is most informative, as it links to a pdf entitled American Muslims Lead Policy Discussions at 2008 Democratic Conventions, which informs:
- AMT chair Dr. Agha Saeed has organized Muslim Hospitality Suites at Democratic and Republican Party Conventions since 1992. This year, AMT has organized similar hospitality suites at Green and Libertarian Parties as well. AMT programs were covered, in part or whole, by several national and international media including Voice of America, Democracy Now, Press TV, GTV, Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, and RAVI.
Does it surprise you that, once again, we find Rep. Keith Ellison taking part in AMT’s activities at the Democratic Convention in Denver, as did Amy Goodman, Reps. Dennis Kucinich, Mike Honda, and John Conyers?
Would it surprise you to know that Rep. Keith Ellison gave the keynote address at the 4th Annual Convention of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota?
Would it surprise you to know that Rep. Keith Ellison delivered an address November 23, 2008, at CAIR’s 14th Annual Fund-raising banquet held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway Hotel in Arlington, VA?
In fact, would it surprise you to know that CAIR Watch (aka Americans Against Hate) calls Ellison “CAIR’s Congressman”? CAIR Watch writes:
- Ellison attended the University of Minnesota, along with future CAIR heads Nihad Awad and Ibrahim Hooper, just prior to Awad and Hooper taking leadership positions with the Minnesota-based Bosnian Relief Committee. (Joe Kaufman, FrontPage Magazine, ‘A Night of Hamas Heroes,’ March 8, 2004) While at the university, Ellison became involved with the Nation of Islam (NOI), the organization led by notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. He kept this involvement in NOI for a period of ten years, participating in rallies, including the Million Man March hate fest; defending hate speech; and using such aliases as Keith Hakim, Keith X Ellison and Keith Ellison-Muhammad. (Scott Johnson, Power Line, ‘KEITH ELLISON FOR DUMMIES,’ September 30, 2006)
Amidst Ellison’s run for Minnesota’s 5th District Congressional seat, in 2006, he accepted tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions raised during CAIR-sponsored events, including secret CAIR fundraisers held out of state in Florida. As well, he accepted thousands of dollars in contributions from CAIR leaders themselves, including contributions from CAIR’s Executive Director Nihad Awad (Nehad Hammad) and CAIR’s Chairman Parvez Ahmed. (Federal Election Commission, ‘Individuals Who Gave To: ELLISON, KEITH MAURICE,’ November 2006 Congressional election)
FYI: AMT / Muslim Brotherhood and the FBI
zTruth blog pointed out March 18 that AMT “proposes snubbing the FBI.” This is easily confirmed from both the press room items on AMT’s website and practically shouted from the rooftops in AMT’s request for visitors to sign up to support AMT in suspending relations with the FBI.
Additionally, AMT posted the April 19 press release “U.S. Muslim Coalition Reaffirms Opposition to FBI Tactics,” which concludes:
- “We are fully united in asking the Obama administration to address the following issues: 1. Infiltration of mosques and systematic manipulation of Muslim religious affairs, 2. Use of agents provocateurs to trap unsuspecting Muslim youth, 3. Unfair targeting and deliberate vilification of CAIR, a national Muslim civil rights organization, 4. Use of McCarthy-era tactics, most notably dissemination of Islamophobic analysis by federally-funded ‘fusion centers’ to local law enforcement agencies.”
zTruth points out:
- None of these organizations have ever turned over a potential terrorist or even provided a tip to the FBI, that I’m aware.
CAIR’s relationship was already curtailed by the FBI last fall because of their relationship to the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas which was revealed during the Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror funding trial. So here they are hiding within this coalition threatening to suspend their outreach to the FBI. This is totally pathetic but just like Islamists.
In his March 26 Newsmax.com article, FBI Barters With Muslim Organizations, Frank Gaffney Jr. first states AMT is the Muslim Brotherhood, followed by an examination of the evidence for and against the idea of the Muslim community’s “cooperation” with the FBI. Gaffney’s conclusion?
- The members of the American Muslim Taskforce have overplayed their hand. Their recent threats to end their “outreach” to the FBI should be seen for what they are — a desperate bid to induce the Obama administration to force the Bureau to resume relations with organizations it should be shunning and closely surveilling, if not actively rolling-up.

Not a big surprise Obama backing Lisa, what does surprise me is the negative tone towards Obama by Mike Flannery.

Congressman Ellison Carries the Islamists’ Water
Who Is CAIR?
[In 2007, in the publication Family Security Matters, Jasser wrote that CAIR uses “the protection of religion when the facts are not on their side. They use the discourse of politics when they want to push forth their Islamist agenda with the presumption of speaking for all Muslims. They will delve into the political only on their own terms in both foreign and domestic policy but when they are on the receiving end of political criticism they run for cover under the guise of victimization."
A dispassionate look at CAIR’s public posture shows that Mr. Jasser’s observations ring true.]
