Time to shut up now, Bill (Updated)

Here we have unrepentant Communist terrorist Bill Ayers walking the streets of New York City wearing his “this is ridiculous” T-shirt. Maybe we’re delusional here at RBO but if we wanted to NOT be noticed, we’d probably just keep quiet, not walk around wearing a billboard-like T-shirt calling attention to ourselves, not write another blog post, and just let the past 10 or 11 months of our national nightmare slip into the mist of time.

If you are Bill Ayers, and you wanted the media to leave you alone, wouldn’t you STOP calling attention to yourself like this?

Wrong! Apparently the first thing you do, if you’re Billy Ayers, is to write a whiney-assed article blaming Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Stephen Colbert — “who channels Bill O’Reilly on steroids” — for all the attention lavished on you in “this political season.”

Well, Billy, when an admitted terrorist like yourself, who planned and plotted to blow up national icons like the Pentagon, continues to brag about being “guilty as hell” and “free as a bird” decades after committing crimes for which you were not held accountable and received ZERO punishment, and you, that admitted terrorist, have been up close and personal with someone aspiring to become the next president of the United States, it rightfully tends to draw attention to said terrorist — don’t ya think?

In These Times published your rant on November 7, 2008, and here’s what you wrote:

My voicemail filled up with hate messages. They were mostly from men, all venting and sweating and breathing heavily. A few threats: “Watch out!” and “You deserve to be shot.” And some e-mails, like this one I got from satan@hell.com: “I’m coming to get you and when I do, I’ll water-board you.”

The police lieutenant who came to copy down those threats deadpanned that he hoped the guy who was going to shoot me got there before the guy who was going to water-board me, since it would be most foul to be tortured and then shot. (We have been pals ever since he was first assigned to investigate threats made against me in 1987, after I was hired as an assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.)

Your Chicago police buddy aside — we know that you’re a very beguiling fellow — whatever in the world made you think you are the only one who has harbored thoughts about acting out violently? At least these were only threats.

But then, again, why should anyone believe you? You continue to distort reality. Let’s look at the semi-truthful statements you wrote about your “relationship” with Barack Obama:

During the primary, the blogosphere was full of chatter about my relationship with President-elect Barack Obama. We had served together on the board of the Woods Foundation and knew one another as neighbors in Chicago’s Hyde Park. In 1996, at a coffee gathering that my wife, Bernardine Dohrn, and I held for him, I made a donation to his campaign for the Illinois State Senate.

Yes. You served together on the Woods Foundation — 1993 to 2002.

Yes. You “knew each other as neighbors in Chicago’s Hyde Park” — 1993 to 2008.

Yes. You and your wife, fellow Communist terrorist Bernardine Dohrn, held a coffee for Barack Obama when he ran for the Illinois State Senate.

Yes. It is possible that you held a coffee for Obama in 1996 but it has been reported by others that you held one in late 1995 as well.

Yes. You made a donation to the Friends of Obama political action committee campaign fund.

However, unless there was another $200 donation made at another time, the only reported $200 donation was made in April 2001. It’s a matter of public record.

Now, let’s look at what you did not mention about your relationship with Barack Obama.

How about the Chicago Annenberg Challenge? You do remember the CAC, don’t you? Obama was CAC’s founding president and chairman of the board from 1995 to 1999 — a board upon which you also served — and continued to serve on the board until 2002. Oh, the CAC? Didn’t you help found that?

And then we have Leadership for Quality Education run by your brother, John Ayers. Obama served on that board at one time, perhaps 1998-1999, or even earlier. LQE was one of those share-the-wealth organizations you and Obama helped out with a few thousands in spare change.

Did you forget that while Obama was on the board of the Joyce Foundation he helped steer some more big-time cash to both the CAC and LQE as well as to your Small Schools Workshop?

Enough with this trip down memory lane. You’ve obviously conveniently “forgotten” more than you’re willing to remember.

It’s just a crying shame that Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Sarah Palin, Stephen Colbert, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity didn’t blow up your lies and expose you for the liar you are and Obama for the fraud that he is.

“Have you seen the [Bill] O’Reilly attempts to interview Billy? He called the police to ‘protect’ him! Doesn’t surprise me a bit: Billy needs others to stand up, not him. He’s too important! Do you think his new book [Race Course Against White Supremacy, co-author Bernardine Dohrn] has something to do with his position? I bet we hear a lot from Billy and Bernardine after the election. Especially if Obama wins.”
