John Batchelor wrote late last evening, September 22, 2008, on his blog:
Fresh strangeness from the Obama-Biden camp with Katie Couric guiding Joe Biden on his campaign bus to remark that the Obama webad (below) that claimed that John McCain can’t use the computer was “terrible.”
“I thought that was terrible,” Biden answered Couric about the internet webad. “I didn’t have anything to do with it, and if I’d had anything to do with it we’d never done it, and I don’t think Barack… (pause, reload) …y’know I just think that was, uh… ” Couric fenced. Biden continued, “The answer is I don’t think there was anything intentional about that. They were trying to make another point…”
Joe Biden Struggling
Joe Biden cannot be delighted with the Obama campaign attacks on his friend and colleague John McCain of more than thirty years, and it shows in his struggle to speak sincerely to Couric and at the same time avoid the trap he then stepped in to. I liked Joe Biden for this. He talks too much. Sometimes he speaks credibly, kindly, warmly, and it makes him recognizable.
Also, watch closely. Joe Biden is a grown-up in the business of Washington. He knows you do not smear a war hero. He knows what the Obama campaign is doing now is deeply dangerous for January 2009 and a semblance of comity.

Our citizens may be deceived for awhile, and have been deceived; but as long as the presses can be protected, we may trust to them for light.--Thomas Jefferson.

I love the McCain / Palin / Biden ticket.
I think Joe is realizing he made a deal with the Dark One.
