Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) gaffed again today.
RBO blogger Katmandu reports that Obama told people in Israel that he was on the Senate Banking Committee. Watch.
Problem? Sen. Obama is NOT on the Senate Banking Committee.

I was going to say that Obama’s statement that the Senate Banking Committee is “my committee” wasn’t that big a deal, and not that surprising from a man who told Bibi Netanyahu that he was about ready to “fall sleep standing up.” But he did say in the immediate preceding sentence, “Now, in terms of knowing my commitments, you don’t have to just look at my words, you can look at my deeds.”
In this case, Obama’s words are wrong, and “his deeds” don’t actually include voting for this bill. He had no role in the “passage” of this legislation.
I don’t think it is wise for Obama to try this stuff in front of the Israelis.
Here’s our pal Barack Obama, saying that the Senate Banking Committee — “which is my committee,” he says — passed some bill about something. Problem is, he’s not actually on the Senate Banking Committee at all. Maybe he meant to say he’s on the SENATE LIARS COMMITTEE where he passed a bill about MAKING SHIT UP. This is significantly more important than John McCain saying the Surge caused things that happened before the Surge.
The bill calls for divestment from Iran, a common-sense plan that has wide bipartisan support. Obama clearly wanted to claim credit for this effort, but as the Senate website clearly shows, Obama doesn’t belong on the Banking committee. Nor is Obama on any of the subcommittees.
Once again, Obama wants to claim credit for efforts on which he served no role. Either that, or Obama is such a dilettante that he has no idea on which committees he actually belongs. It could even be both. Neither gives any confidence that Obama has any grasp at all of his own job, let alone the one for which he’s campaigning. Maybe he needed a lot more than three years to get acclimated to national politics.

Ya know. I vote sociopath. I thought I was stunned when I was hearing earlier today he told Katie Couric, when pressed for the third time if the surge of troops in Iraq worked, that (to paraphrase) he had “no idea” what the results of HIS plan MIGHT have accomplished had it been implemented. Now, as Sen. Obama said yesterday to Terry Moran of ABC News “no one has a crystal ball”; but one would HOPE that the person who seeks the office of Commander-in-Chief would have SOME idea of what the position he advocated WOULD or MIGHT have done! To flat out admit that he is CLUELESS as to the possible results of the plan he proposed in Iraq should cause deep concern and make people stop and think.
