In an interview with World Net Daily, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said that a “Sen. Barack Obama presidency would spell danger for the Middle East and for America’s interests in the region,” WND’s Jerusalem bureau chief Aaron Klein reported July 8, 2008.
“Bolton expressed concern Obama will not support the use of force to fight terrorism by U.S. allies, such as Israel,” Klein wrote.
“Obama may cause a real problem with our friends or allies who see the world as a more difficult place, such as those dealing with terrorist acts in Gaza, the West Bank or Hezbollah in Lebanon …
“All these things can be handled by talks according to Obama. But when it is necessary to resort to force or self defense, Obama would look on in disfavor.”
“Bolton argued Obama holds a ‘broad conviction’ that ‘everything can be negotiated and can be solved through negotiations’,” Klein wrote.
“He has a faith in the negotiation process as matter that drives policy and not as one aspect of policy only when negotiations make sense.”
In answer to Klein’s question whether he believes an Obama presidency will be dangerous for the U.S. as far as the Middle East is concerned, Bolton replied:
“Yes. I think so. Although his views seem to change fairly rapidly, if you look at what he says unprompted in response to questions and not just when he is reading speeches he has a very naive view of how one deals with adversaries around the world.”

Our citizens may be deceived for awhile, and have been deceived; but as long as the presses can be protected, we may trust to them for light.--Thomas Jefferson.

lol John Bolton is dangerous. He was once was Co-director of the, now defunct, PNAC that got us into the Iraq fiasco. He is one of the most yellow chickenhawks.
BERLIN WALL SPEECH
Today is one of those days when my Bambi frustration is at a brink. It is over the Berlin Wall speech. I read there are tensions between local and national governments because the location has been reserved for Presidential level speeches. His ego is now causing international tensions. Completely unnecessary tensions – which constituency is he appealing to by giving a speech in GERMANY??? And given his grasp of History he couldn’t possibly know and understand the history of the Berlin wall – a call to anyone in the media, please ask Obama his understanding of the Berlin wall.
But my real frustration? He can’t just go to overseas and intellectually engage in global issues with international leaders. He wouldn’t think to consult the other members of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs re our allies’ concerns – the committee he chairs, the committee he has never coalesced since appointed its chair. No, his ego demands he give but yet another grandstanding speech of non-historic proportions on a historically symbolically rich location. Attempting a big home run based on the symbollism without the homework, statements without any meaning – here we are again – the bogus race speech in Philadelphia, the bogus unity in Unity NH.
Senator Obama – Could you just do your job and be a Presidential Candidate? Could you just visit a few countries, meet some international leaders, and learn a thing or two about what is going on in the world? Come back and revise your bizarre and conflicting foreign policy statements and make it a day. You are wearing me out with this speech thing.
One other thing, I really enjoy the Obama image on the home page with DA all around his head.
Obama figured out that Iraq would be a dumb war in Oct 2002 when all those seasoned Washinton types were tripping over each other to invade Iraq.
Obama figured out that it would be a good idea to talk to the Iranians and Syrians etc.
Those things have made pretty good sense to me.
gasdocpol, Obama’s habitually used terms like “dumb” war are used to engage the simpleminded on an emotional level. Well, he succeeded. You’ve been bamboozled, Chicago-style. How does it feel?
